Banke Bihari Temple

There are many temples in the Vrindavan and Mathura which are dedicated to Lord Krishna. One of the most famous temples is the temple of Banke Bihari. It was constructed in 1864 by the Swami Haridas. The temple is dedicated to Lord Krishna. The image of Lord Krishna in the temple is selected by the Swami Haridas. In this temple, Lord Krishna was considered and treated as a small child. He is also known by his another name as Thakur Ji. The image of the Bankey Bihari ji is made up of black color wood. This image has been brought from the Nidhivan.

The children’s of the Goswami did the sewa of the Banke Bihari Ji. One of the most interesting things in the temple is the absence of mangal Aarti. This is due to the reason that the child sleeps more and get up late in the morning. Therefore the temple also opens late. In this temple, Lord Krishna is worshiped by doing his shingar, rajbhog, and Shayan. He is bathed, dressed in new clothes and jewelry at the time of Shingar.  The Banke Bihari is always treated with seasonal clothes and food. The temple doesn’t have any bell.

In the rainy season, the flowers and lights are used to decorate the whole temple, the festival of Janmashtami is also celebrated with great joy. The eyes of the Banke Bihari are very beautiful. The temple uses curtains after every minute in front of the Banke Bihari Ji as there is some magnetic attraction in the eyes of Banke Bihari Ji. It is said that the person can lose his self-awareness if he continuously stares into the eyes of Banke Bihari Ji.

The temple is built by using the architecture of Rajasthan. It is one of the best and richest temples in India. The temple has a hall inside which is decorated with flowers.
