Takht Sri Patna Sahib is a holy gurudwara, built by Maharaja Ranjit Singh, the first Maharaja of the Sikh Empire. This gurudwara was one of the many monuments built by him. It was built to commemorate the birthplace of Sri Guru Gobind Singh Ji.

Sri Guru Gobind Singh Ji was the tenth guru of Sikh Empire. This gurudwara is also called Harmander Sahib. The current shrine of Takht Sri Harmandar Ji Sahib or Sri Patna Sahib present in this gurudwara was built in 1950. Sri Guru Gobind Singh Ji was born here in 1666. He lived here and spent his childhood here and left this place after few years of his life. He then went to Anandpur in Punjab state.

This Gurudwara is the world’s most important Sikh religious place. This place was honored not only by his birth but also by the visits of Sri Guru Nanak Ji and Sri Guru Tegh Bahadur Ji.

The architectural design of the Gurudwara is incredible and very beautiful and attractive. There is also a museum in this Gurudwara complex. Many objects and things related to the tenth and the last Guru Sikh, Sri Guru Gobind Singh Ji. The most important and one of the best-known thing showcased here is the gilded cradle of Sri Guru Gobind Singh Ji.
