Swami Vivekananda the Hindu Monk of India

Swami Vivekananda was a famous monk, religious leader, and philosopher of Vedanta. He was the organizer of the Ramakrishna Vedanta math. His birthday has been celebrated as the National Youth Day. He raised the Hinduism religion in the world legacy.

Swami Vivekananda was born on 12th January 1863 in the West Bengal, India. His father’s name is Vishwanath Datta, who was a lawyer in the high court of Calcutta. His Mother’s name was Bhubaneshwari Devi, who was a Housewife. His childhood name was Narendra. He was aware of the religious situation in the surroundings from his childhood days. Narendra worshiped in front of various God. In 1871, Narendra started his schooling from the Ishwar Chandra Vidyasagar institute a Metropolitan School. He studied European history, Western logic, and philosophy from the Institute of General Assembly.

From his childhood, Narendra was interested in the various fields like literature, philosophy, history, religion, and arts. He was also interested in the Vedas, Bhagavad Gita, and Ramayana and in Mahabharata. Narendra started thinking religiously after he comes under the Brahmo Samaj. He gets attracted towards the Samaj movement of Anti-Superstition and reformist approach. After the death of his father in 1884, he meets Ramakrishna Paramhansa.

His life gets changed when he meeting with the Ramakrishna Paramhansa. In 1886, Ramakrishna died. Based on the teaching of Ramakrishna Paramhansa Guru, Narendra founded the Ramakrishna Math. In 1893, he introduces the Hinduism religion in Chicago to the western world. He got a new name as Vivekananda after which he traveled to various places in India as a monk.

In 1893, he gets attract all the audience of the USA by calling them, brothers and sisters. He also visits many times in USA and UK and delivered many lectures there. In 1897, he gets returned to India and started the Ramakrishna Mission which is a worldwide spiritual movement. He worked a lot to eliminate the system of caste, raises the nationalism, eliminated the Poverty and a lot of other things. On 4rth July 1902, he died in the West Bengal. The birthday of Swami Vivekananda is celebrated as the national Youth day.
